Plan Your Visit

However you come — with questions, with kids, or completely on your own — you're welcome exactly as you are. We're a genuinely friendly church, and you won't feel out of place. Even if you walk in alone, you'll leave knowing you are loved and cared for. Here's what a visit with our family looks like.

Sundays with your kids — nursery, Kids Church & the Connect Room

Bring the whole family. We have a staffed nursery and Kids Church during our Sunday service. Prefer to keep your children with you? You absolutely can. And if your little one gets restless, our Connect Room is right there — a comfortable space where you can settle a crying baby while still watching the service live on the TV. No stress, no judgment.

Lively, heartfelt worship

We don't just sing songs — we worship together as a church family. You're never required to do anything, but open, expressive worship is very welcome here. Lifting your hands and singing out to God is encouraged, and there's freedom to meet with Him in your own way. Come as you are.

Prayer at the altar

At the end of every service, our altars are open. Anyone can come forward for prayer over whatever they're walking through — our pastor, pastoral staff, and prayer team ministry would be honored to stand with you and pray for the needs in your life.

Midweek — Family Night

In the fall and winter, Wednesday is Family Night. Our Women's group, Men's meeting, and Youth all gather at the same time — each in their own space — to build strong relationships and dig into the things that speak specifically to women, men, and youth. Then on Sunday, we all come back together. In the summer, we gather for a combined Bible study.

Who we are

A church that feels like home.

Welcome to Covenant Church in Black River, New York, proudly serving families throughout Fort Drum, Watertown, and Carthage. We're a non-denominational, Spirit-filled church — but more than that, we're a family. When you walk through our doors, you're not showing up to a performance, an institution, or just another meeting. You're gathering with real people who know each other, love each other, and are doing life together.

If you don't have those kinds of Christian friendships yet, this is a place you can come home to. Come as you are, meet friends, and build strong, lasting relationships with people who will walk with you and point you to Jesus.

And here's the beautiful part: you're not just a spectator or a consumer. You're someone God wants to use — to encourage, strengthen, and touch the lives of others. There's a place for you here.

Our Mission

To lead people to Jesus, ground them in truth, equip them to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, and help them discover and fulfill their God-given mission.

Our Heart for People

No matter your story, background, or season of life, you are welcome here. We care about real people encountering a real God — where the broken find hope and believers grow deeper.

Our Leadership Culture

Leadership is a calling to serve, not a platform. We raise shepherd leaders who love people, teach truth, protect the flock, and lead with humility — not celebrity culture.

What to Expect

Warm and genuine people, passionate worship, practical Bible-centered teaching, and room for the Holy Spirit to move — for individuals and families alike. Come as you are.

Our foundation

What We Believe

Our foundation is the Word of God, the finished work of Jesus Christ, and the present-day power of the Holy Spirit. We are committed to being:

Our Statement of Faith

We believe that the Bible is God's Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, as both God and man, is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the "new birth" we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, prayer, and the "breaking of bread".

We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives, which is to worship God, fulfill our role in the Church, and serve the community in which we live.

We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and blessed lives in order to help others more effectively.

We believe that marriage is a covenant relationship established by God between one man and one woman, designed to reflect His covenant love and provide the foundation for family and human flourishing.

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
